Need Vitamin Sea? DIY Beach Decor & Nautical Crafts You’ll Love

April 26, 2015 by CraftPaperScissors 1 Comment

Nautical crafts remind us of the ocean and of warm summer days (which are on their way, promise!). Even if you don’t live by an ocean, there’s no reason you can’t embrace the coastal style that’s so popular these days. I have deep ties to oceans, lakes, beaches, islands, and sailing and you could say I’m a bit obsessed with summer. That being said, today I decided to focus on how to make nautical bracelets and jewelry and nautical themed wedding crafts for a DIY nautical wedding. Hopefully you’ll love these ideas as much as I do!

DIY Nautical Jewelry

Ever since my first sailing trip in St. Martin last January, I’ve been obsessed with nautical everything! One of the hardest parts of sailing was anchoring. Figuring our how to drop the anchor and getting it to stay put was a challenge for our crew but once we got it right, it was the most rewarding experience. Letting the sails go up and taking them down was a group effort that involved a lot of rope. These nautical jewelry projects remind me of my sailing adventures!

Nautical DIY Wedding

I recently got married and I debated on having a nautical wedding! I ended up doing “the knot” ceremony where my husband and I tied the Lover’s Knot while my pastor read a little reading about how it was the strongest knot and could not be broken. I plan to have it framed and hung in our living room because we now have a nautical themed living and dining room! It’s even complete with a nautical gallery wall. Now I’m going to have to add to my collection of nautical knick knacks with some of these craft projects. I like these because even when the wedding is over you can enjoy the decorations in your home.
