DIY Coloring Page Greeting Cards
Did you know you can use your coloring page to make your own greeting cards? If you love to color and you collect coloring pages and coloring books, you might be wondering what to do with all these beautiful pictures you’ve colored. How about making note cards and greeting cards? You can make your own cards that you can then share with friends and family that you’ve customized yourself with your own favorite colors.
You can create greeting cards using your coloring pages in a variety of ways. Today I’m going to show you how to make a card using a printable coloring page.
Materials
- Coloring page – Download a free flower coloring page designed by Jen Goode
- Colored pencils, markers or watercolor pencils
- Printer
- White Paper/cardstock
- Glue
- Scissors or paper cutter
Instructions
Print out the coloring page at 30% original size on white cardstock.
Color or paint your picture however you’d like. Trim the colored image down as desired.
Paint or color an additional page of paper, I used watercolor pencils and a waterbrush to quickly create a color blend look on my paper. If painting, allow to dry.
Glue the trimmed coloring page to the colored background paper. Trim down around the colored picture, leaving a ¼” border.
Use a third piece of cardstock and fold it to make a card. Glue the coloring page art to the card.
Optionally, add a nice sentiment or note to your card. You’re finished!

Coloring books have been all over the place recently, but I never thought of using the image on a card. The end result is beautiful, personal, and you get to color it too! I love the idea and I can’t wait to try it!
I like this idea also… have just started making my own cards and it is easy to blow through ink. This is a nice handcrafted alternative.
I know I am going to enjoy all you do. I will print these out and use my watercolor pencils to color. Thank you!
This is a lovely idea. I have been sending sheets with simple designs to my Sunday School students when they are ill. One variation is I draw a line from corner to corner. and I color one of the halves and put in a note asking them to color the other half and bring it back for our coloring wall display! They seem to love it and our wall is a focal point for visitors, If our child is very young or sick the three teachers in our class will draw an X on the page and each do 1 section leaving one for our student. Anyway we do it they love that they haven’t been forgotten and still participate with us
