I have used plastic canvas to create small containers that fit my needs… an oddly shaped shallow container to hold pencils etc when I place it between my placemat and my book holder, for example. I made a picnic basket to hold a single lunch. I have used plastic canvas to make a bottle-holder with a purse strap so I always have my water bottle within easy reach… not just in a pocket in a backpack.

I was doing needlepoint and made several pictures that are hanging in my house. I also made lots of needlepoint items for my family and friends. Now that I’ve gotten in paper crafting the needlepoint has gone by the wayside. I made lots of greeting cards that I send to friends and family. I want to do some mixed media projects – some will decorate my house and some will be given away. the paints and stencils would give me a great start. thanks.

Now that I’m into paper crafating I’ve been embellishing different items for display in the house.
I’m working on a papermache (sp?) pumpkin that is covered with washi tapes. I’m using 8 or 10 different tapes to encircle the pumpkin. Then it will get lots of ribbons and leaves at the top.
That is going on my dining room table.

I have upcycled & upholstered sofa & chair; curtains; wall art; embroidered tablecloths & napkins; Christmas tree ornaments & tree skirts; panted lamps & embellished lampshades; upcycled, painted & stenciled coffee & side tables. I am now living in a skilled nursing facility, and I use a wheelchair. I was looking at this week’s giveaway package, and I was immediately full of ideas for how I could use them to decorate my plain black chair; and thereby, I would create a unique and, perhaps happier wheelchair? While I no longer have my Singer or Husqvarna sewing machines, I do have a small craft sewing machine which should allow me to sew a cover for the detachable cushion and then both sides of the backrest would be perfect for stenciling. I would not be surprised if some of my jewelry making supplies also found their way onto my redo of my trusty wheelchair. Given the way I love to crochet, make paper flowers and 3D paper crafts, as well as digital scrapping, who knows what or which additional crafts will become blended in a project I’m doing. At this point in my life reading, writing, Bible study and crafting are what occupies my life since all of these can be done from my chair or in my bed. Of course, living in an assisted living facility means my benefit checks go to the facility, so like most residents in nursing facility I only have $30 per month to spend as I choose. Still, with careful planning and an occasional gift I am able to have a selection of supplies which means while my body may not be healthy and active, my mind and creativity always are.

As a teacher creativity is a part of my life and crafting things out is my hobby. Really enjoy teaching new art and craft things to my kids and feel the joy when they come up with their own creativity to me.

This is awesome. I love winning free stuff cause dont’ have a lot money to buy craft things. and everyweekend me n my girls have their cousins over to spend the day and we make crafts but I was running out of ideas until I found this website but now I’m running out of craft supplies so winning some would surely help out a lot so thank you for the chance to enter and good luck to all the others who entered as well.
