I live in Europe and though I love all the birds, my absolute favorite is the Eurasian Blackbird. Though plain looking, its song makes this bird stand out above the rest. During spring and summer the blackbird sits at the highest locations such as rooftops or treetops and sings so beautifully with lots of different melodies. Most of the singing occurs early morning and late in the evening and the songs mark their territories. Our neighborhood has a lot of blackbirds and it is wonderful to hear when all of them are out singing.
