Space . . . the final paper crafting frontier! Recently, an out of this world trend in paper crafting has caught my attention. From the moon to stars and constellations, these motifs keep showing up in paper crafting products, my monthly scrapbooking kits, and on the projects I see on Pinterest and Instagram. The sentiment “I Love You To The Moon and Back” can be found on cards, layouts, and DIY wall décor, and stars can be found sprinkled on banners and party décor.
As a scrapbooker, I am definitely a creative, right-brained person. When I think of stars and space, I think of science, math, and logic. These are definitely left-brained traits, so it is interesting to see how these motifs have made their way into creative endeavors. The stars and the moon can also be dreamy and calming, and the blood moon a few weeks ago showed us a colorful side of the moon. Maybe that’s what draws us creative types to the stars and the moon despite our right-brain tendencies!
There are almost as many moon and stars-themed paper crafting ideas as there are stars in the sky, but I have narrowed it down to 30 of my favorites. From a moon piñata to pop up cards that will leave you starry eyed, these projects will inspire you to shoot for the moon the next time you sit down to create!

I started scrapping in 2006 and was quickly addicted!I was an avid scrapper until late summer of 2010 when we started our adoption journey, at that point I was overwhelmed with paperwork (and emotions!) and I had to put something on the back burner in my life but I knew I would eventually come back to it.
We welcomed our daughter home from China in December of 2011 and a few months later I found my groove again and pulled out all of those supplies that had been tucked away.
I started out scrapping again doing traditional layouts, but at the beginning of this year I jumped into Project Life and I love it!
When I’m not scrapping I am usually spending time with our daughters which means library time, going on walks, thrifting (they love it as much as I do!) or watching Kung Fu Panda for the millionth time.I also have an Etsy shop Panda Eight Designs where I sell scrapbooking flair that I design.
