Today’s Project

On the ninth day of our 12 Days of Christmas in July Giveaway, my true love gave to me…these Button-Trimmed Stockings from Premier Yarns!

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

Length: 19″

Circumference: 12″

MATERIALS

Premier® Yarns Premier Home® Cotton Glitz (83% cotton, 15% polyester, 2% metallic; 280gm/490 yds)

  • #77-01 Silver White (A) – 1 ball
  • #77-02 Red Gold (B) – 1 ball
  • #77-03 Green Gold (C) – 1 ball

Hook: US Size H-8 (5 mm) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge

Notions: Tapestry needle, stitch marker, 4 (5)-1″ buttons

GAUGE

12 sts x 16 rows = 4″

Save time, check your gauge.

PATTERN NOTES

To change colors in sc: Insert hook in next st and draw up a lp, drop working color and pick up new color, pull new color through 2 lps on hook.

STOCKING

Version 1 – White Cuff

TOE

With A, ch 2.

Row 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, turn – 6 sc.

Row 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc across, turn – 12 sc.

Row 3: Ch 1, * sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * across, turn – 18 sc.

Row 4: Ch 1, *sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * across, turn – 24 sc.

Row 5: Ch 1, sc in each sc across.

Row 6: Ch 1, *sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * across, turn – 30 sc.

Row 7: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Row 8: Ch 1, *sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * across, turn – 36 sc.

Rows 9-12: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

FOOT

Change to C.

Rows 13-20: With C, ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Change to B.

Rows 21-24: With B, ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Change to C.

Rows 25-28: With C, ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Change to B.

Rows 29-30: With B, ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Place loop from hk onto stitch marker.

HEEL

Row 1: Join A with a sc in 13th sc of Row 30, sc in next 11 sc, turn – 12 sc.

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each heel sc, sc in next sc on Row 30, turn – 13 sc.

Rows 3- 11: Rep Row 2 – 22 sc.

Fasten off A.

LEG

Place st from stitch marker back on hk.

Row 31: With B, ch 1, sc in first 7 sc of Row 30, sc across 22 heel sc, sc in last 7 sc of Row 30, turn – 36 sc.

Row 32: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Change to C.

Rows 33-40: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Change to B.

Rows 41-44: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Change to C.

Rows 45-52: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Change to B.

Rows 53-56: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Change to C.

Rows 57-64: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Change to B.

Rows 65-68: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Change to C.

Rows 69-72: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Change to A.

Row 73: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

CUFF

Row 74: Ch 1, working in blo, *sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * across, turn – 42 sc.

Rows 75-80: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn. Fasten off.

Go back to Row 74 and join A with a sc in first unworked front lp, working in flo, sc in next 17 sc, ch 10 (hanger), sc in rem 18 sc. Fasten off.

 

Version 2 – Red Cuff

Work as for Version 1, changing colors as follows.

Rows 1-28: Work in B.

Rows 29-30: Work in A.

Heel: Work in B.

Rows 31-32: Work in A.

Rows 33-36: Work in C.

Rows 37-40: Work in A.

Rows 41-44: Work in C.

Rows 45-48: Work in A.

Rows 49-52: Work in C.

Rows 53-56: Work in A.

Rows 57-60: Work in C.

Rows 61-64: Work in A.

Rows 65-68: Work in C.

Rows 69-72: Work in A.

Rows 73-80: Work in B.

FINISHING

Sew side seam.

EDGING

For Version 1, work in A. For Version 2, work in B.

With A (B), ch 30 (37).

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across, turn – 29 (36) sc.

Rows 2 & 3: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Row 4: Ch 1, sc in first sc, *sk 3 sc, 7 tr in next sc, sk 2 sc, sc in next sc; rep from * across – 4 (5) scallops. Fasten off.

Sew buttons in place at center of each scallop, then sew button panel in place on stocking. On Version 1 sew on Leg along seam. On Version 2 sew along edge of Cuff.  Weave in ends.
