Knit-Santa-Belly-Scrubby-Pattern

MATERIALS

  • RED HEART® Scrubby™: 1 skein each 905 Cherry A, 10 Coconut B, 12 Black C
  • RED HEART® Super Saver®: 1 skein 324 Bright Yellow D
  • Susan Bates® Knitting Needles: 5 mm [US 8]
  • Yarn Bobbins

  • Black sewing thread
  • GAUGE: 18 sts = 4″ [10 cm]; 24 rows = 4″ [10 cm] in Garter Stitch. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needle to obtain the gauge.

Santa Belly Scubby measures: 7″ x 6½” (18 x 16 cm)

Garter Stitch

Row 1 (Right Side): Knit all stitches.

Row 2 (Wrong Side): Knit all stitches. Repeat Rows 1-2 for Garter Stitch.

NOTES

Belt is worked separately then attached to surface of fabric with sewing needle and thread. Belt Buckle is worked in Garter stitch Intarsia, to avoid carrying yarn across back of work, wind 2 bobbins with D. When working in Intarsia and changing colors, remember to twist yarn on Wrong Side to prevent holes in work.

Rows 34-48: With C, knit for 15 rows.

All it is is a 9×7 rectangle and then you mail it off. I have attached the link if anyone is interested in helping with this winter project. http://www.warmupamerica.org/how.html

I have a good friend of mine that is teaching me to knit…. I want to learn the Portuguese method because of the arthritis in my hands and want to limit the repetitive motion… We will both be learning how to do this… (I think she’s trying it so I won’t fell like such a all thumbs knitter)

I am just learning to knit. My first knitting project is a scarf. 🙂 I have crocheted for years and have been working on expanding my knowledge. Only knew the granny square most of those years though. lol. It is super exciting to me to “teach an old dog new tricks” so-to-speak. It helps tremendously with my anxiety and ptsd but can be rough on the carpal tunnel. So far I like to make blankets lots of blankets, scarves, hats, teddy bears, snowman heads, ornaments, c2c graphs, fingerless gloves, pot holders, doggy sweater and shawls. There is still so much to learn and so many patterns to choose from though lol. And yes 90% of my yarn stash is Red Heart. Been using Red Heart for nearly 30 years! To win this really would be a dream come true. But if not I promise I will still buy this yarn when I am able… P.S. Could your company possibly consider a yarn vault type thing… You guys have such great yarn and a few times it was discontinued due to seasons… Maybe y’all could keep those on the back burner somewhere and every once in awhile do a re-release (Like Circus Print) just an idea. 🙂 Thnx 🙂
Good luck everyone and Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays.
