Scented Heart Necklace DIY

February 12, 2016 by Stefanie Girard 2 Comments

Do you think of hot glue as a material you can create charms and focal jewelry elements with? I didn’t until I got some AdTech scented hot glue. It really changed the way I thought of hot glue. It transformed it from simply the material I was using to construct a project with other elements to the material I wanted to make something with.

I knew you could “draw” with hot glue so I thought I’d try making a heart with the letter “S” inside.

Teflon sheets are a great surface to use when drawing with hot glue as it slides right off when the hot glue cools.

The heart is sturdy and flexible and…..smells great!

To assemble the necklace I threaded a chain through a large hole glass bead.

With a large jump ring I linked the hot glue heart along with a little silver bead that would dangle inside the heart to the loop of the chain.

The fun part of wearing this necklace is sniffing it. In this case I used the Christmas tree scent which is my favorite.

Have you ever made anything out of hot glue?
