The best things in life are the ones that take you by surprise, am I right? Prepare to have your mind blown as you discover what these recycled crafts are made of. Kids and adults will love these unbelievably unique recycled craft ideas!
Recycled crafts for kids are not what they used to be – these projects are even better than you could imagine! I love finding recycled art projects to make with kids and let their creativity shine. Turning trash into treasure is the second best part of the recycling crafts craze and it’s only second best to the fact that these crafts help keep our earth clean. We hope you enjoy these recycling ideas for kids!
Trendy String Art Necklace
Graphic DIY jewelry and string art projects are both hot right now, so why not combine them into one unbelievably cute accessory? Kids can easily make this Trendy String Art Necklace on their own, and it costs next to nothing to make. Can you guess what recycled material it’s made from?
Upcycled Coasters
I don’t know about you, but since I got my iPod a few years back, I have found way too many CDs hidden all over my house that I no longer need. Instead of tossing old CDs, why not make them into handmade upcycled coasters? Use scrap fabric you have on hand to make this recycled craft even thriftier. No guest will be able to guess where you scored these sweet coasters.
Hello, Gorgeous! Recycled Wreath
There’s nothing I love more than hanging an adorable wreath on my front door! With this Hello, Gorgeous! Recycled Wreath, you can welcome guests to your home in the thriftiest way. Normally I’d make you guess what it’s made of, but I just have to tell you. Those pretty blossoms? Those are egg cartons!
Magazine Corkboard
It’s time to recycle every issue of Cosmo, Better Homes and Gardens, or National Geographic that you swore you’d re-read again one day, but never did. Making one of these recycled magazine cork boards is a great way to clear out your stash and get your office organized all in one project. Teens and adults will love this practical (and pretty!) recycled craft.
Wine Cork Critters
You’ve seen wine cork wall art and cork coasters, but we bet you’ve never seen wine corks turned into whimsical, adorable children’s toys. Wine Cork Critters are an absolutely adorable way to use up your wine corks, and they’re fun recycled crafts for kids to try! Who knew that recycling projects for kids could be SO cute!?
Unexpected Friendship Bracelets
We bet you’ve made the standard macrame or embroidery thread friendship bracelets back at summer camp, but we found an ultra-thrifty alternative that your inner child will totally love. These Unexpected Friendship Bracelets are made with something you see every day: water bottles! Don’t believe us? Check out these recycled crafts and try them for yourself! These bracelets are the perfect example of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle for kids.
Mosaic Picture Frames
Last but not least on our list of recycled crafts is my personal favorite project. Every single piece of these Mosaic Picture Frames comes from a recycled material, but no one will believe you if you tell them the truth behind these thrifty frames! Recycled art projects for kids are so much fun.

I saw some stamping done with toilet paper rolls but I could never get the ink to show the way I thought it should. I finally gave up and put the rolls in the recycling bin.
The cork animals are darling.
I recycle paper into handmade paper. I recycle Christmas and other greeting cards into paper which I use to print my annual Christmas letter.
I also take old jewelry, beads, charms, keys, do dads and make them into new jewelry.
Love your ideas! I am looking for ways to use toilet paper and paper towel rolls for grownup reasons. Any ideas?
I use toilet paper roll for keeping candles and also stand for egg and vase for fake flowers with stapling few of them toghether .
Very good and interesting
I need help on a school go green project any mind blowing suggestions
I have several go-to materials for recycled crafts. I always save a few cardboard boxes that are very thick and sturdy to make bases for wreathes. I save a few lighter cardboard boxes such as cereal boxes to make templates that I can trace, or for many other crafting things. I like to save dry-cleaner metal hangers to use as wreath or mobile bases. I like to save milk jugs and their lids to make plant pots, luminaries, mosaics etc. I like to save some old newspaper or magazines to make paper flowers and I have even used them to make envelopes for oversized homemade cards.
