If ever there was a holiday that warranted you making a card for that special someone, it is Valentine’s day. Taking the time to DIY a card for your loved ones is the perfect way to show them how much you love them.  From cards for the special man in your life to unique printable Valentines cards if you find yourself in a time crunch, there is a DIY card for everyone in your life.  I have rounded up a few of my favorite handmade cards you will want to create this year.

Adorable Origami Heart Card-Such a simple yet sweet card. Love the classic tone on tone effect of the sheet music against the kraft paper, also try using book pages, maps or patterned scrapbook paper to create your origami heart.

DIY Valentine Pop Up Card-This free(!) printable card is the cat’s meow.  Included are not only templates for the card but for the envelope as well.

3D Hearts Valentine-So much to love about this card.  Even though there are multiple layers of patterned paper and the 3D heart, this card still folds flat to mail!

Washi Tape Heart Card-This card with layers of washi tape has my heart forever and ever. Little candy colored rolls of washi get me every time and I am sure i’m not the only one with more than just a few rolls of it just waiting to be used, this quick and easy card is the perfect excuse to break into your washi stash.

String Heart Yarn Cards-Love the texture of the hearts created with the brightly colored yarn.  I am thinking that this would be a fun idea for Easter cards as well, imagine fun colored Easter eggs stitched onto the cards!

Handmade Card for Coffee Lovers-Coffee lovers…we all know one (and are probably one ourselves!)

Textured Braille Valentine’s Cards-This card in particular spoke to my heart.  We recently returned from adopting our second daughter from China who is visually impaired.  Once she starts school she will be learning braille so when I saw this card I thought it was just perfect, what a wonderful way to include everyone on your card making list!

What is your favorite Valentine’s Day candy?
